About us

Vietnamese field expertise since 2005

Vietnam Wild Tour & Research Service Co., Ltd. (Wildtour) is a pioneering Vietnamese company working at the intersection of birdwatching tourism, wildlife travel, biodiversity research, conservation consulting, environmental impact assessment support and nature education. Established in 2005 and led by Vietnamese ornithologist Nguyen Hoai Bao, Wildtour is among the first professional birdwatching tour operators in Viet Nam, while also serving as a field-based biodiversity and conservation consultancy grounded in long-term ecological expertise.

Not simply a tour operator – a conservation-based enterprise

Unlike a conventional travel company, Wildtour was founded and is led by specialists in ornithology, ecology, conservation, and environmental research, supported by a multidisciplinary network of leading experts. We design specialist birdwatching and wildlife tours, conduct biodiversity surveys and monitoring, support EIA/ESIA projects, and deliver professional training for national park staff, airport personnel, students, guides, and local communities.

Our Core Services

From wildlife experience to applied conservation

Wildtour designs and operates specialist birdwatching and wildlife tours while also providing technical services for biodiversity surveys, ecological baseline assessments, conservation planning, environmental impact assessment support and conservation education.

The company’s field experience spans forests, wetlands, grasslands, coastal mudflats, mangroves, national parks and agricultural landscapes. This enables Wildtour to link tourism experiences with conservation outcomes, ecological knowledge and practical local partnerships.

Wiltour offers a diverse suite of field-based and advisory services:

  • Birdwatching & Wildlife Tourism: Custom itineraries, bird hides, and ethical photo tours across Vietnam's forests, wetlands, and coastal landscapes for international and domestic naturalists.

  • Environmental Consulting & EIA/ESIA Support: Ecological baseline surveys, biodiversity risk screening, and mitigation planning for development and infrastructure projects.

  • Wind Energy Biodiversity Monitoring: Specialised bird, bat, and fauna monitoring programs for onshore and offshore renewable energy projects.

  • Aviation Wildlife Hazard Management: Advisory services and practical bird-strike risk prevention training for national airport safety personnel.

  • Protected Area Support: Ecotourism route design, guide training, and visitor interpretation modules for national parks.

Wildtour also support sustainable agriculture and social impact initiatives. We directly invest in place-based conservation:

  • Senta/Sentara Rice Initiative: A wildlife-friendly, regenerative agriculture model located in the buffer zone of Tram Chim National Park. This initiative reduces agrochemical pollution and manages rice fields as seasonal habitats to protect the threatened Eastern Sarus Crane while boosting local farmer incomes.

  • Wildbird Hotel Tram Chim: A social impact hospitality investment near the national park that serves as a community base, an environmental education hub for student field trips, and a platform for eco-agricultural experiences.

Besides, Wildtour also believe that education, training, and public outreach are essential for transforming scientific knowledge into meaningful conservation action. By sharing expertise, building capacity, and inspiring public engagement, we help bridge the gap between research and real-world conservation. Our key initiatives include:

  • Environmental Educational for Children: Field-based programs to experience birds, forests, wetlands, farming landscapes, and local culture firsthand while developing a deeper appreciation for nature and conservation.

  • Vietnam BirdRace and Community Platforms: Beyond the competition, the Vietnam Bird Race promotes ethical birdwatching, responsible wildlife photography, and conservation awareness.

  • Publications, Digital products and Knowledge: The knowledge products that make Vietnam's bird diversity more accessible to visitors, students, researchers, protected-area staff, and the wider public, supporting bird identification, education, tourism, and conservation.

Our team

Our team is made up of passionate and experienced researchers/naturalists dedicated to delivering exceptional birdwatching, wildlife, and nature photography experiences. Fluent in English and deeply knowledgeable about the region’s wildlife and ecosystems, each guide holds at least a bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, conservation, or a related field, or has extensive experience as a biodiverisity researcher or national park's guide. To ensure the highest standard of guiding, all our guides have a required license/certificate for international tour and receive specialized training under the direction of our Managing Director, Nguyen Hoai Bao, equipping them with the skills and knowledge expected of leading birding specialists.
