Bird knowledge translated into books, apps, databases and training materials

Wildtour’s credibility is strengthened by knowledge products that make Vietnamese bird diversity more accessible to visitors, birdwatchers, students, researchers, protected-area staff and the wider public. These products translate field ornithology into practical tools for identification, education, tourism and conservation communication. Our key products and knowledge resources as follow:

• A Naturalist’s Guide to the Birds of Vietnam: a compact photographic guide co-authored by Nguyen Hoai Bao, Nguyen Hao Quang, Yong Ding Li and Geoffrey Davison, published by John Beaufoy Publishing in 2025;
• Vietnam Bird Guide app: a digital bird identification resource developed by Nguyen Hoai Bao to support birdwatchers, students, photographers and conservation education; The app is now available on either IOS or Android.
• birdvietnam.com: an online platform with species information, bird photographs, identification tools, quizzes and checklists support public learning and citizen engagement;
• Training and field-course materials: applied resources for birdwatching guide training, biodiversity surveys, student environmental education and aviation bird-strike risk awareness.
