Vietnam BirdRace

From competition to conservation awareness

Since 2024, the Vietnam BirdRace has grown into an annual platform for birdwatchers, photographers, protected areas, sponsors, and local communities. Beyond competition, the event promotes ethical birding, responsible wildlife photography, public engagement, and support for bird conservation.

The Vietnam BirdRace is one of Wildtour's flagship initiatives, uniting birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, national parks, conservation organizations, sponsors, and local communities to celebrate Vietnam's biodiversity. Beyond the competition, it promotes ethical birdwatching, responsible wildlife photography, and conservation awareness. Our objectives include:

• Promote responsible birdwatching and nature photography;
• Create a bridge between professional guides, citizen scientists, photographers, and protected areas;
• Raises awareness about threatened species and conservation challenges;
• Strengthens networks among nature lovers, sponsors, schools and international teams.

We have successfully organized three Vietnam BirdRace events at Tram Chim National Park, Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park, and Cat Tien National Park. The events have attracted birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, and nature enthusiasts from across Vietnam, as well as participants from Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and beyond. We aim to make the Vietnam BirdRace an annual event, expanding its reach and inspiring greater public support for nature conservation and wildlife protection in Vietnam.
