Explore West Papua through modular birding programs focused on New Guinea’s birds-of-paradise, bowerbirds, and regional specialties around Waigeo, Sorong, Jayapura, and Manokwari. Modules can be combined according to time and target species.
This comprehensive expedition explores the rich avian diversity of West Papua, Indonesia, across four distinct regional programs designed for varying fitness levels and birding preferences. Spanning coastal islands, lowland rainforests, and high-elevation montane reserves, the route targets as many species as possible, including up to 14 species of Birds-of-Paradise (BOP), iconic pigeons, kingfishers, and localized endemics.
