Yok Don National Park and Ban Don eco-tourism area are located quite far from Ho Chi Minh City (400 km); they are also far from other cities like Da Lat (200 km), Nha Trang (150 km), and Pleiku (220 km). However, this site is easy to get to from other cities; one of them is the Da Lat plateau by car. If you start from Ho Chi Minh City, private car transportation or bus takes about 10 hours. It is also possible to take a regularly scheduled commercial flight from Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, or Ha Noi to Ban Me Thuot airport.

Yok Don National Park and the Ban Don area are premier sites centered around dry dipterocarp specialists and Srepok River birding. Key targets include Mekong Wagtail, White-rumped and Collared Falconets, Black-headed Woodpecker, Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch, and White-browed Fantail.

We recommend staying at least one night in Buon Ma Thuot or Ban Don to maximize your species coverage.
